We can provide students a context where they can get hands-on involved in managing projects which also benefit the work we do. You as a student will gain valuable practical experience and opportunities to learn and improve skills in a variety of subject areas: sociology, business management, development work, and so on. There is a constant need for resources to do research and evaluation; students and scientists are very welcome to get involved. Previously, students have conducted studies within leadership and organizational development, knowledge transfer withing CTO’s youth program, film projects etc. If you are in Cape Town and from a university we can also arrange educational tours in the townships and of our office.

Some areas or examples of research which would possibly make a difference in our work:

CTO’s Flea Markets and Township Tours and in what way they contribute to a more sustainable organization.
How entrepreneurial activities contribute to positive change and gained activity among youth in a township like Guguletu.
Possible local entrepreneurial projects possible to be implemented in CTO and/or in the youth program.
Sport as part of youth programmes.
The environmental perspective in CTO’s program or in a specific project.
Evaluation of how a specific project contributes to increased knowledge in Human Rights.
Evaluate how a specific project contributes to increased gender equality.
