Code of Conduct & Whistleblowing

At Contribution to Opportunities (CTO), integrity, accountability and safeguarding are fundamental to everything we do. We are committed to creating a safe, transparent and respectful environment for everyone involved in our work.

This page explains our Code of Conduct, how concerns can be reported and how we handle reports of misconduct.

Our commitment

CTO has zero tolerance for:

  • Corruption and fraud

  • Abuse of power

  • Conflicts of interest

  • Sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (SEAH)

  • Harassment or discrimination

  • Any behaviour that compromises the safety, dignity or rights of others

Everyone working with or on behalf of CTO is expected to follow our Code of Conduct and Anti-Corruption Policy.

Report a concern

If you have concerns regarding:

  • corruption

  • fraud

  • financial irregularities

  • safeguarding

  • abuse of power

  • conflicts of interest

  • sexual exploitation, abuse or harassment (SEAH)

  • breaches of our Code of Conduct

we encourage you to report them.

Reports may be submitted confidentially or anonymously.

At CTO, we believe that transparency and accountability are everyone's responsibility. If you have concerns about misconduct or believe that something is not right, we encourage you to speak up.

You may report concerns confidentially or anonymously. Every report is taken seriously, handled with care, and reviewed in a fair and confidential manner. CTO protects anyone who reports concerns in good faith from retaliation.

What happens after you submit a report?

Every report is:

  1. Received confidentially.

  2. Assessed promptly.

  3. Reviewed fairly and impartially.

  4. Investigated where appropriate.

  5. Followed by corrective action if misconduct is confirmed.

If a report concerns a Sida-funded activity, CTO will inform Sida in accordance with applicable funding requirements where necessary.
